Ringing in the New Year in the Grenadines…
We spent a wonderful week in beautiful Mustique. The island was rocking as many boats came to anchor there to celebrate New Year’s Eve at Basil’s Bar for his famous “jump up.” The boats were anchoring dangerously close to each other and some even hit. We had an interesting time trying to keep several charter boats a safe distance away from us.
We spent New Year’s Eve at Firefly. It was a great evening. Cajun and Karyn were inducted into the Mustique Champagne Club after completing the 10 or so champagne drinks required. They were all so delicious!
After a fun filled week in Mustique, we came back to Bequia to relax and unwind. Bequia is home to us this season and it is always great to come back to familiar and friendly faces and places. Unfortunately, there is a flu outbreak in the Grenadine islands and it has hit our boat as well as many others. So, we will be laying low for the next few days as we recover. We are even taking a break from the rum! Although, one of our island friends says the way to treat the flu is to mix the Very Strong Rum with lime and coffee and sip that until you sweat the bad “ju-ju” out of your body… Not sure we are ready for that home remedy just yet.
Happy New Year everyone!
